Two Summer Job Opportunities as Publicity, Public Relations and Tourism Officers

The Publicity, Public Relations & Tourism Officers will work as a team under the direction of the Humanics Institute’s President and with the Board Member handling Publicity and Public Relations of the Humanics Institute.

The selected students will work at the official office of the Humanics Institute at 601 Brookridge Crescent, Orleans, K4A 1Z6.

The Publicity, Public Relations & Tourism Officers will work under the direction of the Humanics Institute’s President and with the Board Member handling Publicity and Public Relations of the Humanics Institute.

The two selected candidates will work as a team sharing the work involved, based on their respective skills and aptitudes.

The selected students will work at the official office of the Humanics Institute at 601 Brookridge Crescent, Orleans, K4A 1Z6.

1. Prepare and implement a marketing plan to advertise the Humanics Sanctuary and Sculpture Park using social media, internet marketing, and other media avenues;
2. Prepare the marketing materials including posters, brochures, and online materials to promote the Humanics Sanctuary and Sculpture Park and the essential values the Humanics Institute
3. Prepare practical material for guided and self-guided tours at the sculpture park, including signage for the sculptures
4. Help with preparing educational material, to be used for dialogues, seminars, meditation sessions etc.to be used in a targeted manner, for groups of school children, young adults, seniors, and even employees of .public and private corporations, to promote essential values enshrined in the Canadian Charter of Rights and Freedom.
5. Work towards achieving a successful event for the 3rd Annual Anniversary Celebration of the July 2 opening of the sculpture park
6. Promote the vision of the Humanics Sanctuary by developing collaborative programs with the multicultural and various faith based organizations, and particularly with Indigenous groups, minority language groups, visible minorities and the LGBT community.
7. Connect with teachers and students in schools, colleges and universities to encourage them to visit the Sanctuary and use the Sanctuary as a public educational facility.
8. Support the Humanics Institutes efforts to form collaborative initiatives with Local, Provincial and Federal government authorities to advance awareness of the essential values we all share in Canada, irrespective of our religious, ethnic, cultural affiliations.
9. When necessary and on special occasions help with the operational aspects of the Humanics Sanctuary and Sculpture Park.
10. Ensure that all materials for public engagement are available in both of Canada`s official languages

Qualifications:
Publicity, Public Relations and Tourism officers could come from many fields of academic study, including Communications, Public Relations, Marketing, Tourism, Public Administration, Management, or Political Science.

Good working knowledge of standard computer programs such as, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Publisher.
Good working knowledge of social media platforms; Facebook, Twitter, Instagram. Experience with Hootsuite an asset

The Humanics Institute is committed to hire youth from Indigenous, visible minorities, new immigrants, and documented refugees, or other equity-seeking groups.

The selected candidates must be between 15 to 30 years of age.

The selected candidate must be fluently bilingual and able to work in both official languages.

Terms:
• Duration of Employment: May 1st to August 31 2019, with possible extension to October 31 2019.
• 35 hours per week,
• $15 per hour
